Armando Hernandez was born and raised in Miami, Florida. He is a Miami criminal defense attorney who concentrates his legal practice in the area of criminal defense. He received his B.A. from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, where he graduated with honors. He holds an airline transport pilot license (ATP) and all flight instructor ratings.

He was on the dean’s list and graduated cum laude from the University of Miami School of Law. He was a member of the University of Miami International and Comparative Law Review. A fluent Spanish speaker, Mr. Hernandez represents individuals in and around Miami, as well as throughout the rest of Florida.

Former Assistant State Attorney

Mr. Hernandez has established a prominently successful and reputable private practice. Prior to entering private practice, Armando Hernandez was an assistant state attorney in which he handled thousands of cases ranging from Driving Under the Influence (DUI) to murder. In 2006, MADD presented Mr. Hernandez with the Prosecution Award of Honor for his outstanding dedication to DUI prosecution.

Attorney Hernandez successfully concluded his career at the Miami Dade State Attorney’s Office as the prosecutor assigned to anchor one of the two Repeat Offender Courts (ROC). His caseload consisted of life and first-degree felony cases of defendants who qualified as violent career criminals, habitual violent felony offenders, and prison releasee reoffenders. Mr. Hernandez uses his past experience as a prosecutor to protect your constitutional rights. He is also a member of the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.

  • Dismissed Murder

    The Defendant was arrested and accused of shooting and killing an individual. A witness on the scene positively identified the Defendant as the person who shot and killed the victim. Mr. Hernandez was hired early on in the pre-file stage of the case and prior to the Prosecutor filing charges. Mr. Hernandez interviewed witnesses. He provided the Prosecutor with alibi witnesses and paperwork showing the Prosecutor the Defendant’s location on the date and time of the murder. Moreover, Mr. Hernandez provided the results of a polygraph examination by the Defendant showing that his client was innocent. The Prosecutor agreed and dismissed the murder charge.

  • No Jail Time 3rd DUl
    The Defendant was arrested for a third DUI offense. Traditionally, the State attorney's office would require a long period of incarceration for such behavior. However, Mr. Hernandez was able to avoid jail for his client and convinced the State Attorney’s office that probation and no jail was appropriate.
  • Dismissed Domestic Battery by Strangulation
    The Defendant was arrested for beating and strangling his wife. Mr. Hernandez was able to convince the state the they did not have enough evidence to move forward with the case. The charge was dismissed.
  • Dismissed Possession of a Controlled Substance
    The Defendant was arrested for possessing illegal drugs in his vehicle. Mr. Hernandez was able to convince the state to dismiss the charge.
  • Acquitted Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and Possession of Cocaine
    The Defendant, who was a convicted felon, was arrested for possessing a firearm as a convicted felon and possession of cocaine. He was looking at a 3 year minimum mandatory if he was found guilty of possessing the firearm as a convicted felon. After trial, the jury returned a verdict of not guilty as to all counts.
  • Dismissed False Imprisonment, Battery and Tampering with a Witness
    The defendant was arrested for battery and false imprisonment. Mr. Hernandez was able to convince the state to dismiss all the charges.
  • Dismissed Grand Theft
    The Defendant was accused of stealing items at a major department store. Everything was captured on closed circuit television. Mr. Hernandez was able to convince the State to drop the Charges.
  • Acquitted Two Counts of Battery
    The Defendant was accused of battering his ex-wife and her new boyfriend. After trial and multiple witnesses called by the State and Mr. Hernandez, the jury returned a verdict of not guilty as to all counts.
  • Acquitted Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon
    The Defendant was accused of trying to run over his ex-wife’s lover with his car at a high rate of speed as the alleged victim walked in an apartment complex. After trial, the jury found the defendant not guilty of all charges.
  • Dismissed Credit Card Forgery and Possession of Marijuana
    The Defendant was arrested for four counts of credit card forgery. Mr. Hernandez was able to convince the state to dismiss all the charges.
