Armando Hernandez was born and raised in Miami, Florida. He is a Miami criminal defense attorney who concentrates his legal practice in the area of criminal defense. He received his B.A. from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, where he graduated with honors. He holds an airline transport pilot license (ATP) and all flight instructor ratings. He was on the dean’s list and graduated cum laude from the University of Miami School of Law. He was a member of the University of Miami International and Comparative Law Review. A fluent Spanish speaker, Mr. Hernandez represents individuals in and around Miami, as well as throughout the rest of Florida.

Mr. Hernandez has established a prominently successful and reputable private practice. Prior to entering private practice, Armando Hernandez was an assistant state attorney in which he handled thousands of cases ranging from Driving Under the Influence (DUI) to murder. In 2006, MADD presented Mr. Hernandez with the Prosecution Award of Honor for his outstanding dedication to DUI prosecution. Attorney Hernandez successfully concluded his career at the Miami Dade State Attorney’s Office as the prosecutor assigned to anchor one of the two Repeat Offender Courts (ROC). His caseload consisted of life and first-degree felony cases of defendants who qualified as violent career criminals, habitual violent felony offenders, and prison releasee reoffenders. Mr. Hernandez uses his past experience as a prosecutor to protect your constitutional rights. He is also a member of the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.

  • Acquitted Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon
    The Defendant was accused of trying to run over his ex-wife’s lover with his car at a high rate of speed as the alleged victim walked in an apartment complex. After trial, the jury found the defendant not guilty of all charges.
  • Dismissed Credit Card Forgery and Possession of Marijuana
    The Defendant was arrested for four counts of credit card forgery. Mr. Hernandez was able to convince the state to dismiss all the charges.
  • Dismissed Aggravated Battery of a Pregnant Woman
    The Defendant was arrested for battering his pregnant girlfriend. Mr. Hernandez was able to acquire surveillance video and text message showing that the incident did not happen as the alleged victim described. The state dismissed the charges.
  • Dismissed Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon
    Defendant was arrested and accused of striking someone with a machete. Multiple witnesses were present during the incident. Mr. Hernandez was able to interview and provide witnesses to the State Attorney’s Office who called in to question the alleged victims credibility. The State agreed to dismiss the charges.
  • Dismissed Displaying a firearm while committing a Felony, tampering with physical evidence and shooting a deadly missile
    The Defendant was arrested for allegedly firing a firearm in the direction of civilians in an apartment complex and later disposing of the weapon in a canal. Mr. Hernandez was able to convince the State during pre-file stage to dismiss all counts.
  • Dismissed Lewd and Lascivious Battery on a child between 12-16 years old
    The Defendant was arrested for impregnating a 14 year old female. The alleged victim was 9 months pregnant and delivered the baby. Mr. Hernandez was able to convince the State to dismiss the charges against his client.
  • Dismissed Trafficking in Credit Cards
    The Defendant was arrest for trafficking in credit cards. He consented to a search of the vehicle where the officer found contraband. Mr. Hernandez was able to convince the state to dismiss the charge against his client.
  • Dismissed Attempted Armed Robbery

    The defendant was arrested and accused of being the getaway driver in an Armed Robbery which took place at a local convenience store. Mr. Hernandez made contact with the prosecutor during the pre-filing phase of the case. Mr. Hernandez convinced the prosecutor that the facts did not support the State Attorney’s Office filing charges on his client based on the principal theory. The state agreed and dismissed all the charges.

  • Dismissed Domestic Battery by strangulation, False Imprisonment, Aggravated Assault and Tampering With a Witness

    Defendant was accused of grabbing a females neck and dragging her to a bedroom. He then took bedsheets and covered her face to the point that her breathing was impeded. Defendant then began to hit her face. Mr. Hernandez pushed the case to trial and the state dismissed all the charges on the trial date.

  • Dismissed Two counts of Aggravated Assault with a Firearm and Battery

    The Defendant was accused of assaulting two people with a firearm and committing a battery on one of them. The case took 19 months to litigate and depositions of all witnesses were taken. On the day of trial, the State decided to dismiss all the charges.
